A bit of Inspiration...

Lead a more comfortable life

Following diets doesn’t work for many of us, so why not make small changes to the way you eat instead? Try sitting at a clear, uncluttered table to eat and putting your fork down between mouthfuls. You’ll almost certainly eat less and enjoy your food more! If you’re a bit of a chocoholic try taking a zinc supplement or eating zinc-rich foods instead, it may sound too good to be true, but it works!

We all do it – that is, putting off things we know we should be doing, like clearing out the cupboards or sorting out paperwork! So, instead of seeing a task as one big thing, try starting one small piece of the task instead. It’ll stop you feeling overwhelmed and help get you out of the procrastination trap!

It’s not always easy but try and get enough sleep. Most experts agree that adults need around 7-8 hours, whilst teenagers need more like 9 hours. So don’t be too hard on them for laying-in in the morning!

It sounds simple but a few tweaks to your chair, desk and computer could seriously reduce back, shoulder, neck and wrist problems. Basically, your keyboard should be around the same height as your elbows when you’re sitting at your desk, so adjust your chair until the tops of your arms hang down comfortably, with elbows at 90 degrees, shoulders relaxed and wrists straight. Your monitor should be directly in front of you, with the top of the screen level with your eyes. Last but not least, don’t forget to take frequent breaks!

Cultivate the ability to live in the present and try not to fret about the past or worry about the future. Worrying tends to shut you down and cut you off from a great source of happiness – what’s going on around you right now.

Before you go to bed tonight, have a go at writing down all the things that are great about your life. It’s easy to take the good things for granted and focus on the bad after all.

It’s easy to think that we can’t make a difference to the world as individuals – but try telling that to Nelson Mandela or Mother Theresa or Gandhi! So do your bit for the environment, whether that’s recycling, using energy-efficient light bulbs or leaving the car in the garage as often as you can.

Be your own best friend. Look after yourself – body, mind and soul.

A quick, effortless way to look and feel fantastic is to make sure you’re wearing colours that suit you. Hold different colours next to your face and you’ll soon see that some shades enhance your skin tone, complement your hair colour and make your eyes sparkle. If a colour doesn’t do anything for you – ditch it, or why not swap clothes with a friend?
